Remote Control Car Traxxas amplified things with XO1,
electric RC car that claims the company is capable of over 100 mph speeds with
a new iOS application. Powered by lithium polymer, pre-assembled car is capable
of zero to 60 in 2.3 seconds and from zero to 100 in just 4.92 seconds. Bring
the car model off-the-shelf even closer to their real world, the XO-1 has a new
engine and all-wheel custom aluminum wheels and transmission of steel.
Using the high-speed transmission for the necessary top speeds, however, requires the Traxxas Link App for iOS. Docking an iPhone or iPod Touch in the supplied control TQi radio, you can use your mobile device as a virtual dashboard and finely tuned control system. The data relating to speed, battery voltage, speed and temperature are radiated by the car and displayed in real-time application, while a series of sliders steering sensitivity, throttle trim, and set a host of other options. Custom profiles can be stored for use with other vehicles or driving environments.
While RC cars are running in this kind of speeds are not uncommon - a case of custom bumper built by Nic hit 161.76 hours miles in 2009 - that's an impressive feat for a vehicle off- the-shelf. Then again, if it at $ 1099 price, it probably should be. The XO-1 will be available for purchase on December 30, the videos come with Traxxas Link App in the App Store on 20 ..
